Spring is HERE!

SNOW one day; gone the next.
We've spent the last couple weekends readying our camper for the upcoming travels. We dissected our carpet runner for the floor. (We had purchased 18 feet of blue runner to serve as a mud room on the white shag carpet that is our rental's living area. We're caring less about possible mud smudges as I guess there was a built in fee to carpet-clean when we're done renting here.)  We also used some carpet to cover the shelf Judd constructed for the back seat of the truck, having taught himself to remove the back seat for more camping storage for us.)  We can ship the seat back to Maine in the U-Haul Container we just reserved. We even spent an overnight in the back yard just to prove we were self-sufficient with heat, water, porta-potty and coffee in the morning.  We are!

One 60° day after work we took a  walk through one of the city parks where there is an aviary. We realized it must have been a bleak month or two with all the snow for the caged birds. The birds were quite happy with all the puddles from the melting snow.  This Friday, all the snow was gone and downtown cafes and wine rooms were putting their bistro tables out on the street. We stopped by the wine club where we're members, Charles Smith, and had a sidewalk cafe moment.  The wine tasting room is in what used to be an old garage, all renovated fancily.  Judd was fascinated by the mechanisms to open the huge bay door. Today we're planning how many lawn chairs and plastic bins will fit in the back seat.
