Last Day in Maine for a while

Last evening we were dodging and cursing what looked like a thunderhead, but we waited it out and it passed.  We did get a fabulous before-dinner boat cruise with Ryley, Malindi and Juno followed by a delicious BBQ of steak, portobellos, salmon and peaches.

Today, the last full day in Maine, and we're still doing chores: mowing the lawn, making a bonus trip to the dump with all the broken down cardboard boxes that we ended up not needing, sawing the last of the big trees for winter firewood.

Car is packed with 2 weeks worth of clothes and camping gear and travel snacks and cold drinks--stuff you can drive 10-12 hours with in your lap. And an itinerary that keeps changing. Now our first stop is Mackinaw, MI where Maine friends are visiting for a bike trek. How perky will we be after 18 hours of driving in 2 days? They'll let us know. 
We depart 6am.
